Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how New Beansland™ handles information when you use NBL Chat™ and its conversational AI, Beans.
Information we may process
- Account information: identifiers such as your email address, authentication account ID, role/access status, and related account metadata when you sign in.
- Chat content: messages you send to Beans and information necessary to generate a response.
- Usage and service information: session/device identifiers, feature usage, reply counts, entitlement or membership status, error and security information, and similar operational records.
- Payment information: when paid membership is enabled, purchases are intended to be processed through Google Play Billing. New Beansland does not need your full card number to operate NBL Chat.
How information is used
We use information to authenticate users, provide NBL Chat and Beans, retrieve approved New Beansland information, maintain role and access controls, enforce usage allowances, support users, protect the service, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, and administer memberships when available.
AI processing
Beans is an AI system. Chat messages may be transmitted to New Beansland service providers used to generate AI responses. NBL-specific questions may also be matched against New Beansland-controlled knowledge before an AI response is generated. AI responses can be incomplete or incorrect; do not rely on them as the sole basis for important legal, medical, financial, safety, or other high-impact decisions.
Service providers
NBL Chat may use third-party providers for functions such as authentication, hosting/database services, AI inference, and payments. Current service components may include Clerk for authentication, Supabase for application data and New Beansland knowledge retrieval, OpenAI for AI response generation, and Google Play for Android billing when subscriptions are enabled. Each provider may process information according to its role in delivering the service.
Sharing and sale of personal information
New Beansland does not use NBL Chat to sell personal information to advertisers. We may disclose information to service providers that process it on our behalf, when required by law, or when necessary to protect users, New Beansland, or the integrity of the service.
Data retention
We retain account, role, usage, support, security, and related records only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate and protect the service, administer transactions, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Some limited records may need to be retained after an account-deletion request for security, fraud prevention, accounting, legal, or compliance reasons.
Account and data deletion
You can initiate account deletion from the app's account/settings area when available. You can also request deletion outside the app through our public deletion page at newbeansland.org/account-deletion.html. Deleting an account is intended to remove associated NBL Chat account data subject to limited retention that may be required for legitimate security, legal, billing, or compliance reasons.
Security
We use access controls and server-side role checks designed to protect account and restricted New Beansland information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so users should avoid sending passwords, full payment credentials, or other highly sensitive information through chat.
Children
NBL Chat is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information in violation of applicable requirements, contact us so we can review and address the request.
Your choices
You may stop using the service, sign out, request account deletion, and contact us about privacy questions or data requests. Availability of additional rights may depend on where you live.
