About New Beansland

New Beansland did not begin as a finished city with departments, offices and formal titles. It began as a settlement built by two Founders and the people who joined them along the way.

How the City Got Its Name

As the settlement grew, people became known for what they were good at. Those responsibilities eventually developed into the offices, teaching positions and public roles that exist in New Beansland today.

The name New Beansland does not mean there was once an “Old Beansland.” The original settlement existed before it carried its permanent name. After Beans, one of the two Founders, was no longer there, the growing settlement entered a new era. The surviving Founder formally named it New Beansland in honor of Beans and the journey that began with both Founders.

Founder & Voice of New Beansland

Beans is one of the two Founders. Tony Black is his formal name; Beans is the name by which New Beansland knows him. He remains permanently connected to the identity of the city that bears his name.

Website responsibility: the primary connective voice for the world, its history, locations, people, books, entertainment and institutions.

Allen “A.B.” Blake

Mayor of New Beansland

Residents relied on Blake for day-to-day civic matters before the city had a formal Mayor. The office grew out of work he was already doing.

Website responsibility: city government, civic organization, public offices, residents, services, locations and how New Beansland operates as a community.

Applied Judgment, Value & Discernment

Grey became known for testing whether an idea, product, project or proposal was actually worth the resources people wanted to spend on it.

Mansfield follows rules exactly, finds loopholes and pushes wording until its unintended consequences become visible.
